What the colors mean

Tan linesCliffs, ridgelines, exposed terrain, and the relief people actually travel to see.
Blue linesWaterways, reservoirs, lakes, and open shoreline views that widen the scene fast.
Green linesOlder or taller vegetation and canopy structure that reads scenic instead of flat roadside brush.
Gray contextBuildings, parks, and civic landmarks add scale, while less-interesting built clutter can damp the score.

Near blockers matter: smaller terrain, plain roadside vegetation, and ordinary built clutter can block better cliffs, water, canopy, and landmarks farther away.
